Those of you using Window 95/98 may control sound by clicking Start, pointing to Programs, pointing to Accessories, pointing to Entertainment, and then clicking Volume Control.  Now simply click in the box to the left of the words Mute All and close the window.  You will need to remove the 'X' to enable your system sounds.
