There are 72 public school districts in the Kansas City Metro area. The Blue Valley, Shawnee Mission and Olathe districts (all in Johnson County) ranked among the nations top 25 school districts. The Kansas City, Missouri School District is the largest school district in the metro area. Kansas City offers many private education options both in Kansas and Missouri. The University of Kansas The University of Missouri-Kansas City, William Jewell and Rockhurst Colleges are some of the most nationally known. Two year programs include Johnson County Community College, the Metropolitan Community College, Donnelly College and Kansas City Kansas Community College. Hopefully my fourteen and twelve year olds are a few short years from a campus. Again although the tuition calculator loads slow, it is free and provides valuable information.
