Real Estate Matters

By Terry Farrell

So Many Sounds, So Few Ears

I remember my mother telling one of my six sisters that "God gave you two ears and only one mouth for a good reason". The reason of course is if we all listened twice as much as we talked we would have far fewer misunderstandings and I dare say would understand each other’s needs better.

Our family computer has IBM’s new voice recognition software and can in fact listen to a short list of rudimentary commands and perform accordingly. Our office tools include digital/alpha pagers that vibrate or talk, cell phones that ping instead of ring, voice mail that drones, email that alarms, talking computers that remind and facsimile machines with tones of training and connecting. However this array of electronic equipment lacks the ability to replace my ears.

The first step any real estate transaction is attentive listening. I must hear your needs and develop a clear understanding of your time line by listening to your objectives. Every day it seems there is a new gadget available-from ultrasonic tape measures to digital recorders and cameras, all designed to make the real estate professional more efficient. I have all the tools. My most valuable tools however are the two listening devices I was born with that are attached to either side of my head. When you are ready to buy or sell give me a call I promise to be all ears.

Whether you’re thinking about buying or selling or merely seeking information, rely on me to provide accurate up to date information about the marketplace today.

Send me an e-mail message and ask to be added to my Real Estate Matters e-mail mailing list. Every two weeks, you'll receive a copy of my most recent issue automatically in your e-mail.
